01 — The standard
Data that holds up in a public meeting.
Counts get challenged — by a city engineer, a developer's consultant, a resident with a stopwatch. Our founder spent years conducting traffic analyses for major clients and answering exactly those challenges, so this standard was written from the receiving end: here is the number, and here is how we know.
Sampled intervals are re-counted by hand on every order; published manual-count accuracy ranges are the industry comparison.
Reviewed by a person. Every study.
No sampling, no exceptions. Night glare, occlusions, a wind-shifted mast, a truck parked in the frame — a reviewer resolves what automation alone would quietly average out.
Problems flagged, never smoothed over.
If an approach sat out of frame for forty minutes, you hear it from us before your client does — with the affected intervals named, so the call on how to handle it stays yours.
One pass. Every movement.
Turning movements, Car/Motorcycle/Bus/Truck classification, and pedestrians come off the same pass of the same footage, so the totals reconcile to each other instead of arriving as three separate opinions.

02 — The deliverable
The workbook is the product. Ours is better.
Most processing houses hand back a raw count and call it done. Every Countwell order includes a written analysis of what the data shows — peaks, directional splits, heavy-vehicle behavior, and anything that looks wrong in the field — for independent and combined studies alike.
And when a client asks for a metric nobody has a template for, that's a special order we can deliver on, not a no.

03 — Straight answers
The four things you're actually asking.
"Do you collect the traffic data yourselves?"
No. Countwell is a processing lab, not a field collection firm — we don't send crews or cameras out. Collection firms and consulting engineers capture the video and send it to us; we turn it into a finished, reviewed workbook under their name. If you're a firm that collects traffic footage, we're the back office, not a competitor.
"Can I trust an outside vendor with my client's data?"
Every new client is onboarded with an NDA from us covering your footage, your client names and your findings — included, not requested. Storage is single-tenant with per-project access, raw footage is deleted automatically ninety days after we receive it, and we will issue a deletion confirmation whenever you want one.
"Is it actually cheaper than my in-house staff?"
Someone on staff counting video costs you a wage whether the season is busy or dead; we cost you nothing in January and absorb your August. Price a real batch in the estimator and set it against your loaded hourly rate — that is the comparison that matters.
"How fast, really, at volume?"
We quote a date per batch instead of a slogan, because a 40-intersection corridor and one driveway aren't the same promise. The date comes with the quote, before you commit, and it holds.
